Galway’s civic and religious leaders will be delivering their Christmas messages on Galway Bay fm on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The 21st annual Christmas messages programme will be broadcast at 6.04pm on Christmas Eve and 1.04pm on Christmas Day and will feature live festive music from newly installed Rector of Galway and Archdeacon of Tuam and noted traditional musician, Rev Gary Hastings, as well as carols from the Augustinian Choir.
This special 45-minute programme is presented by head of news Bernadette Prendergast, and her guests this year will be Mayor of Galway Declan McDonnell; Mayor of County Galway Tom McHugh; Bishop of Galway, Dr Martin Drennan; Rector of Galway and Archdeacon of Tuam Reverend Gary Hastings, and Presbyterian and Methodist community representative Reverend Clodagh Yambasu.
The programme, which is now an integral part of Christmas in Galway, will take a look back at 2009, and will reflect on Christmas past and present in Galway.
