Gobus, the transport company owned by Galway businessman, Jim Burke, have this week, been granted approval by the Department of Family and Social Affairs to accept the Free Travel Pass from commuters travelling on their non-stop service between Galway and Dublin and Dublin Airport.
GoBus, offer a superb daily point-to-point return service operating from Galway to Dublin, which runs 14 direct services each way.
With the completion and official opening of the Galway - Dublin motorway tomorrow Friday 18th December, by the Minister for Transport, Noel Dempsey TD, the journey time will be reduced to an impressive and convenient two hours 30mins.
The direct journey offers passengers a comfortable and enjoyable experience with additional luxury features including toilet facilities, free Wi-Fi, a climate control ventilation system, excellent legroom, 3-point safety belts, adjustable head and foot rests, low interior noise, sunblind’s on all windows, hinged tables to rear of seats, aircraft style, spacious luggage compartments and individually controlled passenger lighting to list but a few.
Passengers not in possession of a Free Travel Pass can purchase a single ticket for as little as €10.00.
GoBus operates from the brand new, LAMA award-winning Coach Station on Fairgreen Road in Galway, now called the Sean Duggan Centre, where morning departures begin as early as 00.45am, almost hourly until 19.45pm.
Buses leave Dublin from 06.15am almost hourly, right up until 23.15pm and depart from George’s Quay ( In Front of Ulster Bank ).GoBus also operates a late night service from Dublin Airport, with coaches departing for Galway at 22.45pm and 01.00am.
