Oughterard Golf Club, which is celebrating its recent success for providing golfers with the best course in Connacht, is offering a limited number of special new membership offers.
For 2010 the club is welcoming new members for a special introductory rate of €1,850, but this is limited to the first 100 new entrants.
The new membership scheme includes the 2010 annual subscription and entry fee, which represents a saving of €2,275.
The Oughterard Golf Club also has won the 2009 Mayo Crystal Best Presented Course of the Year which was awarded at the Connacht Branch GUI annual delegates meeting recently.
Incoming club captain David Walsh says the trophy is a reward for the entire club and the trojan work that has been carried out in developing the parklands course, particularly during the summer months.

Oughterard was one of two winners in the the 2009 Mayo Crystal Connacht Golf Awards. The Veteran Golfer of the Year was won by Rory Timlin of Galway Golf Club, while Sligo’s Alex Gleeson was named the Junior Golfer of the Year.
Kelan McDonagh of Athlone was the Senior Golfer of the Year, and Roscommon’s Jack Halliday won the Services to Connacht Club Golf award.
In other golf news Portumna will play its Christmas Hampers for men over Saturday and Sunday.
The ladies’ committee has elected Marie Kelly from Borrisokane as the captain for 2010.
