The annual Kinvara Christmas Day swim will take place on Traught Beach at 12 noon. The swim is in aid of the Galway Hospice Foundation, with all proceeds collected going directly to the local charity.
Last year the swim raised €5,077 with more than 100 swimmers braving the cold Atlantic waters. Sponsorship cards are available for the swim in all local shops and pubs. This year the swim will take place an hour after high tide so there won't be far to run to the sea. There will be a fire and refreshments on the day to warm you up after the dip.
