Burglars target Newcastle and Doughiska

Gardaí have appealed to the public for information following a number of burglaries in recent days.

Two houses in Laurel Park, Newcastle, were broken into on Monday. The raids occurred between 5.30am and 8am, and laptop computers, digital cameras, a mobile phone, and car keys were stolen.

A number of homes in Cúirt Uisce, Doughiska, were broken into on Saturday afternoon, where the culprits picked the front door lock and stole cash and jewellery. One of the burglars is described as in his twenties with a tweed peaked cap, and he appeared to have reddish hair.

The previous day, another home in Laurel Park was broken into via a rear window and a number of items, including a Toshiba laptop, an iPod, and cash, were taken.
