Born looks international but flys the local flag

When you enter the Born store you may be forgiven for thinking you were in a department store in London or New York. However there is no mistaking that this is an Irish, and locally owned company.

Galway businessman John Curley, together with Clare woman Joan Lynch, ensures that the Born brand grows from strength to strength, along with another Galwegian, Debbie Norman, as general manager.

During a year of economic downturn, Born is like the phoenix rising from the ashes, providing an estimated 30 jobs. This makes for a lively, friendly, and helpful team, delighted to help you out on your next visit.

The designers at Born have got the right feel for Galway, a creative slant with colourful wallpaper, mad lamp shades, curved walls, enormous gilt mirrors, and floor to ceiling windows.

In some rooms you might think you have visited a French chateau with elegant white woodwork and gilt mirrors, while other areas of the shop are funky and colourful. All in all Born is a very stimulating and aesthetically pleasing space to shop.
