Western Motors responds to tough market conditions

Western Motors Ballybrit, the city’s local Volkswagen and Audi dealer, is embarking on a number of campaigns to ensure its customer offers are better than ever.

According to Western Motors, the “ price of all new cars has been reduced significantly by the manufacturers over the last 18 months”.

It says that almost every model in the Volkswagen and Audi range is thousands of euros cheaper than it was a year and a half ago, while specifications have been significantly enhanced, ensuring “great offers” are available for 2010.

The company spokesman adds: "Western Motors has been actively buying cars throughout Ireland and England in order to ensure its forecourt always has a supply of well-priced premium condition Volkswagen and Audi pre owned cars."

He quoted examples from a 2008 Volkswagen Fox at €8,500 up to an Audi A8 3.0L TDI Quattro at €49,000. A small selection of used Mercedes cars is also on view.

In its service and parts department, Western Motors tells us it is also taking steps to ensure it has a competitive package for its valued customers, boasting all the facilities customers would expect to find in a main dealer along with a highly experienced team of technicians and service advisors.  A full price menu board is also on view in the service reception. The service advisors are also now in a position to provide any customer who may require it with a printed quotation by return e-mail if necessary.

The after sales manager Noel Carrick says his priority is to ensure that the existing customer base is given a value-for-money service and that every effort is made to ensure its service is continually improving in terms of value and quality. The company has just launched a customer loyalty card scheme in which existing and new customers can achieve significant service cost savings over the lifetime of a vehicle.

As a result of Volkswagen taking direct control of the importation of Volkswagen cars and parts into Ireland during 2008 Carrick says significant price reductions have come through in a wide range of Volkswagen and Audi Parts. Whether customers have their car serviced directly by Western Motors or through a third party they can ensure that genuine factory-built parts are fitted to their car in order to ensure its safe operation at all times.

Western Motors Managing director James McCormack says: “I am fully aware that a quality value-for-money service is absolutely paramount in these difficult times if any business is to retain and gain a customer base.”

He says a large number of Volkswagen and Audi owners are missing out on the safety and security aspects of using a main dealer because of an out-of-date notion that they are very expensive.

“Anyone considering changing their car, servicing their car, or buying anything even as small as a single oil filter, should try us. They will be pleasantly surprised by the value-for-money we can offer along with the real safety and security aspect back-up of dealing with a main dealership.”
