New book tells a Polish tale for children as Gaeilge

Taisteal le Tarlach sa Pholainn, the new children’s book from Laoise Ní Chomhraí will be launched in the Galway City Museum on Saturday December 12 at 3pm.

This is Laoise’s second book in her Taisteal le Tarlach series. This latest instalment follows Tarlach on his way to Poland with his friend Adas. The two intend spending Christmas there and want to go skiing and travelling around the country. However Tarlach has to get to grips with both the language and the food, which proves a source of amusement to his Polish friends.

The book is beautifully illustrated and is aimed at readers aged between six and 10 years. At the museum launch, Laoise will read excerpts from the book and she will speak about her experience of living in Poland. The children will be able to see clothes, dolls, Christmas decorations, and food from Poland and they will be able to listen to Polish carols. Meanwhile parents can enjoy some mulled wine.

Taisteal le Tarlach sa Pholainn is published by An Gúm. For more information see www.agtaistealletarlach.com
