Alan Titley, the writer, columnist and Professor of Modern Irish in UCC, will give a free public lecture on Breandán Ó hEithir’s Lig Sinn I gCathu on Saturday at 2pm in the Galway City Museum.
The lecture is one of a number of events taking place in Galway city over the coming weeks to celebrate the city’s first ever Aon Chathair Aon Leabhar (One City One Book ) initiative, to celebrate and promote a selected novel associated with the city.
Novelist and Sunday Independent sportswriter Eamon Sweeney will also give a free lecture on Ó hEithir and the GAA on Saturday December 12 in the Galway City Museum at 4pm. The Museum will also run an audiovisual presentation on his life and 100 copies of Lig Sinn I gCathu will be distributed to cafés, libraries, hotels, bars, theatres, and other public places, for interested readers to browse.
