THE AFRO Renaissance Annual Festival 2009 takes place on Saturday November 28 in the GAA Sports Complex Hall, Castlegar, Roscam, from 4pm to 10pm.
This event will provide an opportunity for the local and migrant communities to meet together and enjoy a social gathering. There will be samples food from around the world, music, arts, a fashion show, comedy, African dance, children’s entertainment, and a documentary video.
There will also be an address by the Mayor of Galway Councillor Declan McDonnell, brief speeches from the organisers and special guests. There will also be time dedicated to participating groups and individuals, to highlight submission in writing and matters that need be addressed within the city and county.
Afro Renaissance is a non-for-profit, voluntary, organisation, committed to promoting integration, social inclusion, and supporting both the needy and the talented.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the Blue Teapot Theatre Company, for performers with learning disabilities, and Ability West.
