Katherine Lynch brings her Diddy Diddy Dongo Tour to Black Box

FRESH FROM the success of her two RTÉ series - Wonder Women and Working Girls - comedienne Katherine Lynch brings her crazy crew of Irish women to the Black Box Theatre as part of a national tour.

Populated by a host of Katherine’s larger than life creations, the live show, sometimes naughty and often spontaneous, intertwines the fantastical lives of everyone’s favourite characters from both hit series.

Live and very loud on the night will be Leitrim’s very own gormless gaffer Liz Hurley, with anecdotes of everything from sheep dipping to sheep tipping, singing with Mohill’s premier AC/DC tribute band 50/50 and coaching her beloved football team, The Mohill Lassies. Liz might not have had the height for the Guards, but she definitely had the balls!

Also joining the line-up will be travelling Country’n’Irish legend Bernie Walsh, with songs about love, life, and carpet remnants. Following the success of Bernie’s first album, Friends In Hiaces, and her triumphant performance on The Late Late Show, Bernie has spent the last 12 months on an ego-driven orgy of rampant self promotion, travelling the length and breadth of the country, appearing at every culchie happening, hickey fair, seafood festival, shindig, knees-up, or hoedown you’ve never heard off.

Maybe Bernie’s grand plan to “get famouser” was not as clear cut as she thought it was going to be! Bernie Walsh has a bone to pick and God only knows what she will say!

Also making an appearance will be international man-sponge, xenophiliac happy slapper, and serial divorcee Sheila Chic and her insatiable hankering for exotic man-meat. As if that was not enough, Liz, Bernie, and Sheila will be joined by the finest selection of Katherine’s other alter egos, some familiar, some new, all quite mad!

Lynch’s left of field attitude and playful disregard for political correctness has made her a household name and if you liked the TV series, you will doubtless love the live show!

Katherine Lynch plays the Black Box on Saturday November 28. Tickets are €28 from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 or Ticketmaster.
