Galway finalists revealed for Impact Media Elevate Award

The long wait to the announcement of the winners of the Impact Media Elevate Award is almost over, with the unveiling of six finalists.

Making the cut from hundreds of entries, three finalists from Galway and three from Limerick will now go forward to the glittering awards night where each region’s winner will be revealed.

The Galway finalists are TalentTank.ie, the online notice board linking ‘talent seekers’ with potential employers; iPhone music application developers Grab Radio; and iBuyvouchers.com, the co-operative marketing site which allows member companies to offer discount coupons to their customers through media including mobile phones and the internet.

All three companies made a huge impression on judges Niall McGarry of Impact Media, Pat McDonagh of Supermacs and Tom Murphy of Total Shaving Solution.

“Over the four years of these awards, we have never seen such a high standard,” said McGarry. “The range of different business ideas shows that our entrepreneurial culture is alive and well. All entrants deserve huge credit. The finalists are the cream of a very good crop.”

The €60,000 prize for each region’s winner is designed to lift the emerging entrepreneurs to a whole new level. Galway’s top start-up will receive a complete marketing, web, PR and advertising package from Impact Media; print services from Castle Print; advertising from the Galway Advertiser and i102-104 FM; legal expertise from RDJ Solicitors; and photographic services from viewmaker.
