Drug dealing accused sent forward for trial

An unemployed Tynagh man, accused of drug dealing and being in possession of cannabis worth an estimated €1 million, has been remanded in custody and is due to stand trial in January.

Forty-three-year-old Vincent Glynn with an address at Limehill, Tynagh, appeared before Galway District Court last Monday where Detective Garda Shaun Durkan gave evidence that the book of evidence had been served on the accused in relation to a total of six charges.

The charges include possession of cannabis and cannabis resin at Limehill, Tynagh on June 12, 2009 and with intent to sell or supply these drugs.

The court heard that the DPP had consented to Glynn being sent forward for trial at the next sittings of Galway Circuit Criminal Court, commencing January 12, 2010. Glynn was then further remanded in custody until that date.
