Irish Times editor to speak at NUIG

Geraldine Kennedy, editor of The Irish Times, will deliver a public lecture to the Moore Institute in NUI, Galway on Thursday November 26 at 6.10pm.

The lecture will take place in IT Lecture Theatre 250. Ms Kennedy will attend a short reception at 5.40pm in the foyer outside the lecture theatre. This will be followed by a discussion on the challenges to press freedom in the 21st century.

Also speaking at the event will be William Schabas, Professor of Human Rights Law at NUIG. He will talk on challenges to press freedom throughout the globe. The event will be chaired by university president Jim Browne.

Afterwards the speakers will take questions from the audience.
