A night at the musicals with Rebecca Storm

REBECCA STORM, one of the great names of musical theatre, is celebrating 25 years in the business this year, and as part of her current tour, she will play Galway next week.

Rebecca Storm and her band will play the Town Hall Theatre on Friday November 13 and Saturday 14 at 8pm. On the night she will perform songs from the many musicals she has starred in over the years, such as ‘Tell Me It’s Not True’ and ‘Marilyn Munroe’ from Blood Brothers, ‘Don’t Cry For Me Argentina’ from Evita.

It all started at the age of 23 when Rebecca auditioned for her first musical show, Blood Brothers, and won the lead role of Mrs Johnson, a Liverpudlian Roman Catholic mother of seven. The author Willy Russell was so captivated by her voice that he insisted that the make up deptartment went to work to ‘age’ the young actress!

After gaining rave reviews for her role Rebecca became a West End star and has since played some of the most demanding roles ever written for a leading lady, such as Eva Peron in Evita, Fantine in Les Miserables, Grizabella in Cats, Florence in Chess, Rose in Aspects of Love, and Edith Piaf in Piaf.

Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777.
