TUAM TROUBADOUR Noelie McDonnell will launch his new album Come Alive with a special matinee performance/all ages show in the Town Hall Theatre on Sunday at 3pm.
Come Alive is officially released tomorrow and was recorded over the last seven months in Austin, Texas, and Toronto, Canada.
It was a chance meeting with American folk singer Greg Brown last summer which started a chain of events that led to the making of Come Alive. Brown invited Noelie to open up for him on some US dates. This led to Noelie playing at the Memphis International Folk Conference and playing with Anais Mitchell, Devon Sproule, and Jess Klein.
Then it was on to Austin where Noelie started work on the album at the stunning Aerie Studio with producer and engineer Mark Addison. He finished the recording with musician/producer Don Kerr (Ron Sexsmith, Rheostatics ) in Toronto at the end of this summer.
Noelie’s live performances have earned critical acclaim and won over fans with his catchy folk rock style. In 2008 his single ‘Nearly Four’ stayed at No 1 in the iTunes folk chart for six weeks while his second album Beyond Hard Places spent two months in the iTunes Top 10 folk album chart.
Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777.
