Repairs and reinstatement works must be carried out on the section of the Ballyloughane Road which is close to where the new apartments are being constructed.
This is the view of Independent councillor Terry O’Flaherty who said the condition of the roadway has “deteriorated considerably” and has become “very dangerous” since construction commenced on the new apartment block.
Cllr O’Flaherty has received numerous complaints from local residents and she has contacted the Galway City Council on many occasions to complain about this issue.
“I was assured the council would contact the construction company who are responsible for completing the necessary repairs and for reinstating this roadway, however to date these repairs have not occurred,” she said. “I am now calling for this issue to be given urgent attention to prevent an accident occurring on this roadway.”
