Time to get a trick or a treat at the Galway Races as the much anticipated October race meeting gets under way this Bank Holiday weekend.
Forget about your witches and ghouls’ outfits and get on your racing threads for two great days of competitive racing. The event which consists of 14 races, of both flat and national hunt races generously sponsored by local firms, will take place this Sunday, October 25, with the first race at 1.20pm, and on Monday, October 26, with the first race at 1.35pm.
There is a total prize fund of €251,500 on offer which is sure to attract a host of well-known owners and trainers. The feature race on Sunday is The Sanserv Handicap Hurdle and on Monday The Castlegar Handicap Steeplechase.
Patrons can enjoy all the wonderful facilities on offer at the Galway Racecourse, including the wonderful views from the Killanin Stand and Millennium Stand seating balconies, excellent food, bar, and tote facilities, on-course bookmakers, and the big screen. Car parking for this meeting is free as are children under 14. There is a guaranteed jackpot each day of €10,000. All this and great racing for an admission fee of €15 each day, with a discounted price on production of current ID for students and OAPs available.
There is a special offer in place for group hospitality for just €30 per person. The package includes admission to the racecourse, lunch - main course and dessert, and a table for the day in the Killanin Stand.
