New micobrewery bar for Galway

Galway’s first microbrewery Bar has opened in Salthill with the official launch of its own organic Bay Ale and Bay Lager happening today. Owners Jason O’Connell and Niall Walsh will be proudly serving the first glasses of beer from behind the bar of their newest establishment, The Oslo Microbrewery Bar. Jason O’Connell says: “It’s great to bring a microbrewery like this to Galway, where anyone with a genuine interest in the process can pop in and actually see the casks where the beer is brewed”.

This is Galway’s first in house microbrewery bar and is perfectly situated just off the prom facing Galway Bay. Bay Ale and Bay Lager were named by locals. Bay Ale is a copper coloured, traditional, ale with malt and hop aromas and a smooth and well balanced flavor. Bay Lager is a crisp golden colour, dry and aromatic, malt on the palate, with a dry hop aftertaste.

Each brew produces up to 1,000 litres at a time and is a fine example of organic farming to produce a purer product for Galway beer connoisseurs.

Proprietors Jason and Niall are the team behind the successful Cottage Bars, The Salt House on Raven Terrace, and Mustard restaurant in the Bridge Mills. The Olso will be open daily from 12 noon, serving lunch and free food for parties. For more information visit www.winefoodbeer.com
