The recent decision by the High Court to dismiss two challenges against the Galway City Outer Bypass has been welcomed by Fianna Fáil TD Frank Fahey.
Dep Fahey said he hopes the ruling will allow the bypass to proceed as he believes it will “enable Galway city to have a high quality public transport system”.
However Dep Fahey recently got himself into trouble with the Galway City Council for erecting a series of billboards, along parts of the proposed route of the bypass, which seek to encourage public support for the roadway.
The county council asked him to remove the billboards at Cappagh Road and Barna, saying they are in breach of the planning regulations. However the Galway West TD said he will apply for a retention.
