Junior Galway Film Fleadh seeks scripts from budding young writers

GALWEGIANS AGED between 13 and 18 and who are interested in film and writing are being sought to take part in the Junior Galway Film Fleadh/SpunOut.ie annual story pitch competition.

Those interested in competing are asked to submit a 500 word idea for a feature film, short film, documentary, book, or video game. However your idea will have to grip listeners to get them interested in the film - that’s the pitching part.

The fleadh is advising those who are interested to write a draft of the idea and then practice to family and friends until you are comfortable relaying and even performing the story outline.

Three people will be chosen to present their idea to the assembled audience and jury during the festival on Thursday November 12 at 12 noon in the Town Hall Theatre. The prize will be a script training scholarship at the Galway Film Centre.

The closing date for entries is Friday October 23. Submissions can be emailed to [email protected] or posted to Junior Galway Film Fleadh Script Competition, Cluain Mhuire, Monivea Road, Galway. Entry forms are available from www.galwayfilmfleadh.com/junior, www.spunout.ie, and www.galwayfilmcentre.ie
