To Chloe with love — Fundraiser for ill toddler

Galway toddler Chloe Flaherty was diagnosed with craniosynostosis, a medical condition which caused her brain to fuse with her skull. Following surgery in April, the two-year-old had a major seizure, and has been left permanently brain damaged. Her parents have been told their child will not have a normal quality of life, and will be lucky to live until early childhood.

Chloe is now living at home and requires round the clock care. The family require specialised equipment, and a vehicle capable of transporting both of their children, a care worker, and special equipment for Chloe. To raise the money needed to look after the child at home, her father has organised a benefit night in the Menlo Park hotel on October 15, and a motorcycle run on November 7.

The motorcycle run will leave from Dunnes Stores car park in Briarhill at 11am following a route from Galway through Connemara, and on to Westport and Castlebar before returning to the Menlo Hotel. There will be a lunch stop at the Tavern in Murrisk where bikers can avail of dinner, dessert, and tea/coffee for €12.

The run will cost €50 per bike including entry to a draw for a 2002 Suzuki gsxr1000 motorcycle, and a 1999 bmw 316i 2 door coupe, both donated by the family, along with shop vouchers, and motorcycle apparel.

All details and up to date information can be found on Biker.ie in the fundraising and events section under ‘To Chloe with love run’. Further information can be obtained from Patrick Flaherty on 085 7718567
