A new fish shop has just opened in the Galway Shopping Centre. Aptly name The Fisherman, the store is located beside the main entrance to the centre.
Proprietor Patrick O'Malley has been fishing since the early age of 14, and in time the Galway native plans to supply the shop with fish from his own boat. Meanwhile most of the fish is brought in from Ros a Mhil.
The shop stocks a wide variety of fish including turbot, plaice, brill, monkfish, prawns, hake, and haddock. The Fisherman also has a wide range of high quality shell fish including mussels, oysters, clams, and palourdes, which is all sourced locally from Kelly's in Kilcolgan. As well as organic salmon from Connemara the shop has a wide selection of imported fish from Turkey, Greece and Ghana.
