Clarinbridge exhibition to bring viewers on a Voyage

VOYAGE, AN exhibition of marine photography by Fiona Belton, will be officially opened this Sunday at 4pm in Clarinbridge Antiques.

Voyage is Fiona’s photographic display of the traditional sailing vessels she has seen and been on over the past three decades.

Fiona is a sailor and qualified skipper who has spent most of her life living and working at sea. She has sailed schooners in the Americas and the Caribbean, sailed with Greenpeace in the North Sea and Western Europe, and captained the ‘Tree of Life’ schooner in the ‘Boston Parade of Sail’.

Voyage is part of the Clarinbridge Arts Festival 2009 which runs until Sunday October 11.

Other exhibitions to look out for at the Clarinbridge Arts Festival includes Wet Paint, an exhibition featuring Jim McKee, Frank Sanford, Joe McCaul, Mary Harrison, and Mary Nadon O’Neill which opens in the restaurant above Poppy Seed this Saturday at 7.30pm.

The Trilogy, a series of photographs by Enda Scahill, Ronan Bree, and Conor Ledwith at the Providence Market Kitchen Café and Gallery opens at 9pm.

On Sunday at 12.30pm the Autumn Art Exhibition 2009, featuring work by local artist Rosemary Fallon and her students will take place at the Scoil Ealaíne Studios, Clarinbridge House. There will also be an arts and crafts show by members of the Oranmore Nursing Home in the Parish Hall.
