Heidi Talbot to play solo show at The Crane

“HEIDI TALBOT sings in a voice that’s both awestruck and tender,” says The New York Times, while Village Voice describes her as “Björk combined with Enya”.

Kildare born Heidi Talbot, best known as lead singer with Cherish The Ladies, will play a solo show in The Crane Bar, Sea Road, on Sunday October 11 at 6.30pm.

On the night Heidi will perform songs from her new solo album In Love and Light - her first recording since leaving Cherish The Ladies in 2007.

Guests musicians on the album includes Capercaillie’s Donald Shaw and Ewen Vernal, ex-Fairground Attraction drummer Roy Dodds, Eddi Reader, ex-Solas guitarist John Doyle, fiddler John McCusker, and flute/whistle ace Mike McGoldrick.

Backing Heidi on the night will be Scotland’s John McCusker, who has toured with Mark Knopfler and recorded with Eddi Reader and Paul Weller, and Boo Hewerdine, who has written songs for KD Lang, Eddi Reader, and Maura O'Connell.

Both Heidi and John were nominated for Irish music Awards this year, John for best instrumentalist and Heidi in the female vocalist category.
