TWO AWARD-winning Enda Walsh plays are currently running on two Irish stages; The Walworth Farce in Galway and The New Electric Ballroom in Dublin.
The Walworth Farce has previously been staged in the Town Hall Theatre but can now be experienced in a truly up close and personal setting in Druid Lane Theatre, every day at 8pm until Friday October 2. A matinee this Saturday will also cater for extra demand given the limited capacity of the venue. Early booking is most advised.
Following its Galway run, the play will embark on a tour to Canada, America, Australia, and New Zealand.
To celebrate Culture Night tomorrow, Druid is inviting people to the theatre for a backstage tour from 6pm to 6.30pm. Those attending can also enter a competition to win two tickets for the show that evening as well as a pre-theatre dinner, compliments of Artisan Restaurant on Quay Street.
Entries will be accepted at the theatre on the night between 6pm and 6.30pm with the winner being notified by 6.45pm. All you need to do is to find out approximately how far the Walworth cast will have travelled by time they finish their world tour in Sydney next April. See www.druid.ie to see the full list of venues.
For the duration of the Walworth run in Galway, Artisan will be serving their pre-theatre menu which will run from 6pm to 8pm each evening at a cost of €19.95 for two courses or €23.95 for three.
Meanwhile, Druid’s production of The New Electric Ballroom also opened last night in Dublin at the Peacock Theatre as part of the Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival. It will then tour to New York and Los Angeles.
