ALAN KELLY, one of Ireland’s most imaginative traditional musicians, will launch his new album After The Morning, with a gig in the Róisín Dubh on Tuesday at 9pm.
After The Morning is the third solo album from the Roscommon born accordionist and it features Jim Murray and Ian Carr on guitars, Jim Higgins on percussion, Tola Custy on fiddle, and impressively Eddi Reader and Kris Drever on vocals. Lively up-tempo numbers contrast tastefully with gentle rhythmic tunes.
The album has already received high praise with The Irish Times calling it “a pristine, polished gem” and Irish Echo describing it as “an unqualified triumph”.
Joining Alan for the Róisín Dubh gig are Tola Custy, Jim Higgins, original Lunasa guitarist Donogh Hennessy, and flautist Steph Geremia.
Steph will also be launching her debut album The Open Road at the gig by playing support to Alan. The album features the talents of Johnny ‘Ringo’ McDonagh, Michael Rooney, Brendan O’Regan, Alan Kelly, Jim Higgins, Tola Custy, and Matt Griffin.
