THE CRITIC Gerald Dawe and the poet Michael Heffernan will launch their new books at the Galway City Museum this Saturday at 2pm.
At the event, Gerald Dawe will launch Catching the Light: Views & Interviews while Michael Heffernan will launch The Odor of Sanctity.
Catching the Light is a series of literary views and interviews conducted by Belfast-born poet Gerald Dawe in the North of Ireland in the 1950s and 1960s, in Galway in the 1970s, and on his travels around the globe since.
Michael Heffernan was born in Detroit in 1942 and grew up in a multi-ethnic working-class neighbourhood, eight blocks from the Detroit River and Canada. His poems contain narratives, characters, masks, and free imaginings, expressing themselves in new dance-steps on the ground trod by the iamb.
Both books are published by Salmon Poetry. Go to www.salmonpoetry.com or email [email protected]
