IN THE 1980s and early 1990s Salthill hosted free, live, rock concerts each summer and those days look set to return with the Free By The Sea event as part of the Salthill Community Arts Festival.
The Live Music Stage in Salthill will feature two afternoons and evenings worth of leading and diverse local acts.
On stage on Friday from 5pm will be Dobro guitarist and slide player Tom Portman, African band Toluking, the brilliant indie/new wavers Disconnect 4 (check out their EP Modern Love ), and folk-rockers The Timbertramps.
On Saturday from 2pm there will be performances from Lost Chord, led by Dave Phelan, who play a fusion of hard rock, indie, Krautrock, and Afrobeat; folk-soul band Queen Elvis, singer-songwriter Emmet Scanlon & What The Good Thought, and DJ/techno wizards The Disconnauts.
