More than 25 companies were represented at the successful breakfast briefing, How To Secure Your Company’s Long Term Future, hosted by LEAP and Mazars Tierney Galway, two of Galway’s leading businesses, at the Hotel Meyrick, Galway.
The two speakers, Mike Gaffney (LEAP ) and Paul Mee (Mazars Tierney Galway ), addressed areas critical to long term success in business, in particular how to become a great leader through self awareness and how to set up your company for successful succession and growth into the next generation.
Commenting on the high level of attendance at the event, Mike Gaffney of LEAP said that family business owners recognise the need for effective leadership in their companies and are hungry to apply practical leadership ideas which will improve their impact as a leader straight away.
“LEAP is delighted to be able to help owners with this challenge,” he said. “We are delighted with the response we received from the business community in the Galway region to this event and we would like to thank Paul Mee and all at Mazars Tierney Galway who contributed to its success.”
Respected tax expert Paul Mee of Mazars Tierney Galway said that this seminar demonstrated the need for strong leadership in a business which includes dealing with succession planning.
“It demonstrated that owner managers, in order to plan successfully for a succession, must begin to do so before they reach their fifties by, in particular, ensuring that their wills have been adequately drawn up and their corporate structure fits their future requirements,” Mr Mee said.
