A 43-year-old, charged with the alleged sexual assault of a woman last year, has been sent forward for trial.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Galway District Court last Monday charged with sexual assault on March 13, 2007.
This week Detective Sergeant Brendan Carroll gave evidence that the book of evidence had been served on the accused. The court also heard that the DPP had consented to the accused being sent forward for trial to appear at Galway Circuit Criminal Court on October 7, 2008.
