A new boxing club in Galway is gearing up for its official opening next month.
St Pat’s Tribes Boxing Academy is based in the Liosbaun Industrial Estate to cater for everyone aged five years and older.
Since opening in July, the club already boasts a newly refurbised clubhouse with some 60 children already signed up.
The club has been formed by a group of concerned local people in a bid to keep the youth of Galway city and county off the streets, promote sport, and provide a facility where children have a place to improve their talent.
New members are welcome to particpate in a training session before joining.The club is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7pm to 9pm ages eight to senior, and on Tuesday and Thursday for five to seven year olds.
All members from all ages are fully supervised, with qualified coaches, first aiders, and child protection officers.
