Autumn choral programme

AN EXCITING programme of sacred and secular choral works has been planned for the autumn/ winter season for Galway Choral Association’s Adult Choir

Following its successful summer concert which raised €1,850 for the RNLI, the 50 strong adult choir has decided to broaden its repertoire to include pieces from the popular choral repertoire in addition to works of the great masters.

Pieces to brighten the darker autumn and winter evenings include Haydn’s Little Organ Mass, and the very beautiful ‘Cantique de Jean Racine’ by Gabriel Fauré.

Under the baton of Norman Duffy, Galway Choral Association will perform these and other choral masterpieces in the run up to the Christmas season.

New members, particularly sopranos and basses, are most welcome to join the choir which rehearses every Sunday evening in St Patrick’s Band Hall beside Ceannt Railway Station from 7.30pm.

For information on membership and auditions contact Michael O’Hare, chairman of Galway Choral Association on 087 2318759 or email [email protected]
