COPE Galway has launched a new and fun family event for dogs and dog lovers. Dogathon 2009, sponsored by Petworld, is a fun walk for people and their pets on the Prom in Salthill which is taking place on Sunday September 20 at 12noon. This fun walk is ideal for families to go out for a fun walk with their dog.
“Dogathon 2009 will be a great opportunity for people of all ages, from kids to adults to have a fun day out with their beloved pets”, said Justin McDermott of COPE Galway, “As well as the fun walk we are also planning loads of doggie activities including games, demonstration and information on pet care, health and training so you might also learn some really valuable things for looking after your doggie.”
All dogs which enter will receive a Petworld ‘Doggie Bag’ and their owner will receive a free COPE Galway T-shirt on the day. “We are hoping that dog lovers will all come out to Dogathon and have a great day’s fun and activity with their dog. Most importantly we will be raising vital funds for homeless people, women and children who experience domestic violence, and older people in Galway,” said Mr McDermott.
Registration for Dogathon 2009 is free, each dog and its owner is asked to raise funds for COPE Galway through getting sponsorship from friends and family. When you register you will receive a sponsorship pack.
