LEGENDARY NEW York hc/ska/punks Leftover Crack are due to perform a special gig in the Roisin Dubh on Monday. While a bunch of bands from So Cal were mixing ska and punk in the mid to late ninties a group of New York punkers were mixing up something a tad darker, a mix up of crusty/thrashy punk with ska.
Formed from the ashes of Choking Victim in 1999, Leftover Crack have released three full length albums to date under their studded belts (two on Hellcat, one on Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles ). The band carry on their tradition of singing about the politics of being an atheist, squattin’, train-hoppin’, garbage-eatin’, anti-capitalist, anti-racist, anti-sexist, and being anti-homophobic.
This is the bands first visit to Galway since 2003 and the line-up is completed by Galway’s top hc/punk bands Only Fumes and Corpses, Cut The Reins, and Beanz On Toast. Doors are at 7pm with the first band hitting the stage soon after that. Leftover Crack will be on stage at 8.45pm.
Tickets are €12, and available from the Róisín Dubh and Zhivago.
