Connacht Rugby are holding a free open day on Sunday (August 23 ) at the Sportsground in aid of Special Olympics Ireland.
The Connacht squad will attend the event which takes place between 2pm and 5pm.
Bouncing castles, obstacle courses, kicking and try-scoring competitions, and a skills demonstration by the Connacht players are among the activities.
“It is a great opportunity for children and their families to meet the players and also for the players to meet the people who support Connacht Rugby,” says Connacht CEO Gerry Kelly.
“It will also be an opportunity to raise funds for Special Olympics Ireland who time and again embody all that is good in sport.”
Connacht mascot Eddie the Eagle will help distribute flags and mini rugby balls, and a full range of Connacht merchandise will be on sale. Connacht players will be available for photographs.
All supporters who attend the open day will receive a free ticket to the pre-season game against Rotherham Titans at the Sportsground on Friday August 28.
Car parking is free at the Sportsground for the afternoon, while there will be a bucket collection to raise funds for Special Olympics Ireland.
