Petworld Limited is holding a multi-branch charity event this Saturday in aid of Crumlin Hospital for Sick Children in Dublin. Each of the branches, Galway, Athlone, and Castlebar will be holding a day of fun and activities on Saturday August 22 from12 noon. They are hoping to raise lots of money for this worthy cause.
“Most of the ideas for raising money have come from members of the Petworld Team,” said Stuart Cooper, operations manager for Petworld. “Lots of children come into our stores and many of them have already been or will be going to Crumlin in some capacity during their childhood. A number of our own team members have children who have benefited hugely from Crumlin Hospital and, as we all know from news reports, they are always in need for funds. We just want to contribute.”
The public are encouraged to visit their local Petworld on the day, donate what you can afford, and have a great time while you're doing it. You can watch a person being groomed or pay to see someone eat a cricket in Athlone, get your photo taken with a python or rabbit in Galway, or have your face painted and win spot prizes in Castlebar and lots more.
Inspired by hamsters running continuously on wheels, the Petworld team will run on a treadmill throughout the day. They are determined to impress the public and raise as much money as possible.
Look out for balloon sellers around the town. Each balloon is €2 and all proceeds go towards the charity.
