This academic year sees the opening of a new and modern study and tutorial centre in the heart of Galway. The centre is run by The Galway City Education Company and is aptly named Galway City Ed.
Conveniently located at The Plaza offices on the Headford Road (formerly Park College ), it is a mere five-minute walk from Eyre Square. The centre is run by former teachers of Park College and provides a comfortable and modern environment that prioritises study and learning.
This centre is very private with student numbers limited. Study is supervised by highly experienced teachers who provide assistance and guidance to students in their particular subject areas. The centre also provides private tuition in all subjects on individual or small class bases. The core objective of this centre is to provide private study and education with the emphasis being on personal, individual, attention from the teachers. The centre caters for Leaving Certificate, fifth year, and Junior Certificate students and runs intensive Christmas and Easter revision courses for the relevant examinations.
Registered students can also avail of additional trial examinations subsequent to their own mocks. These trials are provided on a free and voluntary basis and serve to improve preparation and intensify the focus of students on their exams. Equipment and rooms are provided for oral and aural exam preparations.
This facility also runs several other courses including the NUIG engineering maths entrance preparatory course and of course HPAT for entry to medical school.
