West Restaurant nominated for six Food & Wine Magazine awards

West restaurant, at the multi-award winning Twelve Hotel, Barna, has been nominated for an impressive six awards at the renowned Food & Wine Magazine Edward Dillon Restaurant of the Year Awards 2009.

The team at the popular Galwegian restaurant is shortlisted in the categories of Connaught’s Best Restaurant, Best Service, Best Good Value, Good Cooking, and Best Wine Experience, while head chef Cedric Bottarlini has been nominated for the closely contested Best Regional Chef in Connaught accolade. All nominees have been selected by the food-loving public and now the final decision lies with a panel of Ireland’s top food and wine experts who have the difficult task of choosing the winners.

Those lucky winners will be announced at this year’s Food & Wine Magazine Edward Dillon Restaurant of the Year Awards 2009, taking place on Sunday August 23. This prestigious event is being held at the Mansion House in Dublin.

Since opening in March 2007, The Twelve has won numerous awards and award nominations. In addition to the Best Gastro Pub Awards in 2008 and 2009, The Twelve also received Hospitality Ireland’s Best New Hotel Award 2007 and Best Boutique Hotel Award 2008. Gathering national recognition for its extensive wine menu, The Twelve has also won the Wine Spectator Award 2008 and the Georgina Campbell Wine Award of the Year 2009.
