The Connacht Hotel goes back to the 80s for Galway Hospice

Get ready to dig out the leg warmers, embrace the neon and dance the night away as The Connacht Hotel prepares to turn back the clock for a spectacular 80s Disco, all in aid of Galway Hospice Foundation.

Taking place on Friday, November 6, from 8pm until late, the special fundraising event promises an unforgettable evening of classic hits, retro fashion and fantastic entertainment, while raising much-needed funds for one of Galway’s most cherished charities.

Organised by Connacht Hospitality Group as part of its ongoing fundraising partnership with Galway Hospice Foundation, the event will see the popular Galway hotel transformed into an 80s-inspired party venue, with renowned DJ Frank Nestor taking to the decks to deliver a soundtrack packed with the decade’s biggest anthems.

From the infectious pop hits of Madonna and Michael Jackson to the dancefloor classics that defined a generation, guests can look forward to a night filled with nostalgia, great music and an electric atmosphere.

With 80s fashion strongly encouraged, attendees are invited to embrace the spirit of the decade, whether that means neon colours, shoulder pads, leg warmers or their finest retro outfits.

Most importantly, 100% of ticket sales will go directly to Galway Hospice Foundation, helping to support the exceptional care and services provided to patients and families throughout Galway.

Jacqueline ODowd, Group HR Manager in the Conancht Hospitality Group said they are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to The Connacht Hotel for what promises to be a brilliant night of music, dancing and nostalgia.

“The 80s gave us some of the most iconic songs of all time, and we know DJ Frank Nestor will have the dancefloor full from start to finish.

“Galway Hospice Foundation is a charity that means so much to our team and to the wider Galway community. Throughout 2026, our colleagues across Connacht Hospitality Group have shown incredible enthusiasm for supporting this wonderful organisation, and this event is another opportunity to bring people together, have some fun and raise funds for an incredibly important cause.
