Planning a new kitchen? Visit Mark Lohan Kitchens

Galway Open Day on November 7

Expert kitchen design advice, honest renovation insights and a steak masterclass with Chef Tarrant, join Mark Lohan Kitchens for an inspiring afternoon at their Galway showroom. No appointment needed.

There is never quite enough storage. The worktops fill up before you have started cooking. Everyone ends up crossing paths, yet when family and friends visit, there is nowhere to gather comfortably.

If that sounds familiar, you may already be thinking about replacing your kitchen or extending your home to create a new one. But knowing what you want to leave behind is often easier than knowing what should come next.

The Kitchen Renovation Open Day at Mark Lohan Kitchens' Galway showroom on Saturday, November 7, from 12pm to 5pm, is an opportunity to begin working that out.

Designed especially for homeowners considering a renovation or extension, the day also welcomes anyone starting a new build. It is a chance to speak with experienced kitchen designers, hear from a recent renovator and explore ideas in a relaxed, informal setting.

No appointment needed. No finished plans required. Just bring your ideas, and questions, they will help you find a starting point.

Hear from someone who has been there

What decisions made the biggest difference? What proved more challenging than expected? And what would you want to know before starting again?

The Mark Lohan Kitchens homeowner and designer panel will feature a Galway homeowner who recently extended her home and chose an MLK kitchen. She will share her experience, the choices she made and the lessons she would pass on to fellow renovators.

Alongside her story, the design team will offer practical guidance on the questions homeowners face, from budgeting and timing to where to invest.

Ask your own questions or simply listen. Hearing someone talk openly about their renovation can help you put your own plans into perspective.

Good food, fresh ideas and time to explore

Take a look around the showroom kitchens. Open drawers, discover storage solutions and compare materials and finishes to get a feel for what could suit your home.

Enjoy BORA cooking demonstrations throughout the day, see Quooker taps in action and join Chef Tarrant at 2pm for a steak masterclass. Learn how to cook the perfect steak, pick up tips and enjoy sumptuous treats.

Bring your partner, family members or friends, enjoy refreshments and make an afternoon of it.

An informal first step

The open day gives you an opportunity to meet the MLK team, get initial guidance and discover whether you would like to take the conversation further.

Bring photographs of your existing kitchen, plans if you have them, or a few ideas you have saved. Tell the team what frustrates you, what matters most and what you would love your new kitchen to make possible. An early conversation can help you identify priorities and approach your next decisions with greater confidence.

For a more detailed discussion, you can book a dedicated one-to-one design consultation for a later date. Initial consultations last 90 minutes, giving you and your designer time to explore your plans, priorities and ideas in depth.

There is no obligation to book. You are welcome to browse, ask questions and enjoy the afternoon.

Register and benefit even if you cannot attend

Everyone who registers will be entered into a draw to win a Quooker boiling water tap, regardless of attendance.

Unable to join us? Register and they will share answers to questions posed to the homeowner and design panel on the day, so you can still benefit from their experience and advice. Register at mlk.ie/events, or on arrival.
