Quantum Polyclinic has reached a significant milestone in its development, securing approved provider status with Vhi Healthcare, Level Health and Garda Medical Aid - an important endorsement of the clinic as it continues to expand access to high-quality diagnostic care in Galway and the wider Western region.
The milestone comes at a time when access to healthcare and waiting lists remain a major concern for patients across the country. The continued growth of community- based diagnostic services such as Quantum Polyclinic gives patients additional options to access important diagnostic tests quickly and closer to home.
Achieving approval across all three major healthcare funding schemes represents a major step forward for the independent community diagnostic centre in Knocknacarra. It means more insured patients can access MRI, Ultrasound and Cardiology services locally, with the reassurance of attending an approved provider, subject to their individual plan or scheme benefits.
Eligible Vhi members can now access fully covered MRI scans at Quantum Polyclinic, subject to their individual plan. The centre is also an approved Vhi Pay & Claim centre for ultrasound and cardiology services.
Eligible Level Health and Garda Medical Aid members can access covered diagnostic services in accordance with their individual plan or scheme benefits.
Crucially, private health insurance is not required to attend Quantum Polyclinic. The clinic is open to insured and uninsured patients alike, with competitively priced self- pay options available across its diagnostic services. Patients can therefore choose Quantum for rapid access to diagnostics whether they are claiming through an insurer or paying directly themselves.
Services include MRI, diagnostic ultrasound, echocardiography, ECG, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring and Holter monitoring. Patients benefit from rapid appointments, convenient online booking and reports issued within 24 hours.
Mark Sheehan, Managing Director of Quantum Polyclinic, said:
“At a time when waiting lists and access to healthcare are such significant concerns for patients, we are incredibly proud to be able to share some positive news for Galway and the wider Western region.
“Becoming an approved provider for Vhi, Level Health and Garda Medical Aid is a hugely significant milestone for Quantum Polyclinic and reflects the progress we have made since opening. These partnerships will allow more patients to access the diagnostic care they need quickly and closer to home.
“Just as importantly, patients do not need private health insurance to attend Quantum Polyclinic. We are equally committed to providing accessible self-pay options for patients who are uninsured or who simply choose to pay privately.
“Our focus is simple: rapid access, timely results and a professional, patient-centred experience from referral through to diagnosis.”
MRI referrals are accepted from GPs, consultants and chartered physiotherapists. Ultrasound and cardiology services require a GP or consultant referral.
Patients can book online at www.quantumpolyclinic.ie or call 091 379200. Both insured and self-pay patients are welcome. Insured patients should confirm their individual benefits and level of cover before attending.
