Are you grieving, supporting someone who is, or working in this area? A “Living with Loss” evening will be held to offer you a space to feel seen, heard and supported.
Whether you have experienced the loss of a child, partner, parent, sibling, grandparent, friend or work colleague, this free-of-charge community event will provide a welcoming and supportive space to listen, learn and connect.
It will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 7:00-9:00 PM in An Crompán, Carraroe, Co. Galway, H91 X4WH.
This special evening is open to anyone living in South Connemara and surrounding areas who have experienced the pain of losing a loved one.
It will feature a presentation from a very respected speaker, Máire Ní Dhomhnaill, Counsellor & Psychotherapist, who has worked with Teenagers, Adults, Couples, Families and Groups over many years, and has a particular interest in loss. Originally from An Spidéal, Máire uses her “gaeilge” at every opportunity in her work.
The event will also include a panel discussion, where people with lived experience of grief will share their personal journeys and the supports that have helped them along the way.
Attendees will learn about bereavement supports and services available throughout Galway city and county.
Galway Grief Sherpa Network, made up of 26 bereavement support organisations across Galway, is organising this event. This network is one of six Local Bereavement Networks set up around the country, supported by the Irish Hospice Foundation.
