One year after recovering from pioneering the Kalahari Desert's first heavy metal as gaelige, Ten Ton Slug will play a moister homecoming gig at Róisín Dubh this Saturday, October 3.
The band’s hometown show celebrates of the release of its new single 'Livid' and marks 10 years since the release of its debut EP Brutal Gluttonous Beast.
Last October, while playing a festival in Botswanna, The Slug performed their entirely Irish-language track 'Mallacht an tSloda' from their debut album Colossal Oppressor, marking a first for heavy metal sung as Gaeilge in sub-Saharan Africa.
Fresh from a tour supporting Clutch, and with an expanded set including brand new music, expect an evening of riffs and heaviness from the Slug at the Dominick Street venue this weekend.
“You would be doing yourself a great injustice to go through life without ever listening to Ten Ton Slug” is the advice from US online music magazine Metal Injection.
Support on the night is from Dublin's Fraught and Galway's own Ornith.
Tickets €12.50/13.50 on the door.
