The Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill says she wants to see pharmacies giving more vaccines to school children this year. Parents are recommended to avail of a nasal flu vaccine, which is free of charge for all children aged 2 – 17 years old.

The pharmacy Winter vaccine campaign has started, with enhanced flu vaccines recommended for those aged 65 years and over.
Flu vaccines are also free of charge and recommended for everyone age 60 and older, healthcare workers, pregnant, living in a nursing home or other long-term care facility, in regular contact with pigs, poultry or waterfowl, and someone with, living with or caring for someone with a health condition that puts you at higher risk of flu.
