Three months of theatre, music, comedy, dance, and special events will be held at the Town Hall Theatre overt the coming autumn-winter season.
Its bill from October to December is designed to appeal to audiences of all ages, with a vibrant mix of festivals, established favourites and new productions from touring artists and local talent.
“We are thrilled to announce our programme for the final quarter of 2026,” says venue director Fergal Mc Grath. “We have worked hard to create a season that offers variety, quality, and something for everyone. Whether audiences are looking for an evening of laughter, a great night of music, an inspiring theatrical experience or festive entertainment for all the family, we look forward to welcoming them to the Town Hall Theatre.”
Theatre highlights include Decadent Theatre’s production of Nuala, Hugo Hamilton’s uplifting and heart-breaking tribute to Irish writer Nuala O'Faoláin, and more, equally thought-provoking drama from Blue Raincoat, Siamsa Tíre Brokentalkers, Siamsa Tire, Vagabond Productions and Elizabeth Moynihan’s Happiness.
There is dance from Ballet Ireland and John Scott's Irish Modern Dance Theatre and, in Hysterically Shopping, a stunning new opera from Glasshouse/Taste in Your Mouth.
An extraordinary music line-up of 22 concerts includes performances by Foy Vance, Jeff Tweedy, Mary Coughlan, Jamie Duffy, Donovan, Dexys, Picture This, Phil Coulter, Andy Irvine, Andy Fairweather Low, Ralph McTell, Sean Keane, Whistleblast, and Sharon Shannon and Mike McGoldrick with Galway Tradfest. There will also be tributes to iconic international acts including The Bee Gees, Abba, The Beatles and a host of major American country music stars.
This Autumn Winter line-up also features three great Galway festivals in Lasta Festival, Baboro International Arts Festival for Children and Galway Comedy Festival with additional comedy from Rory’s Stories, Scummy Mummies and Gearoid Farrelly.
An eclectic array of special events ranges from OTT Wrestling and TedX Galway, to Forbidden Fruit and Bingo Loco, to the LEO Christmas Craft Fair at the Black Box to Dr David Coleman’s advice on building resilience in children and teenagers.
The new season’s film programme includes screenings of Life Support, an extraordinary insight into the daily struggle of healthcare workers in Gaza, and La Chimera the critically acclaimed 2023 comedy-drama film written and directed by Alice Rohrwacher.
Many, many well-known Galway voices, and well-known Galway faces will feature in the perennially popular annual performances by Renmore Pantomime, 9 Arch Musical Society, and also the NBCRI Fundraiser featuring Galway Musical Society.
Youth Ballet West, Corrib Dance Academy and Hession School of Dance will bring Galway to its feet, and performances by Q Club, Colaiste na Coiribe, Salerno, and The Bish will confirm the future of Galway’s talent pipeline remains secure!
The Town Hall Theatre is delighted to be part of Blue Teapot’s very special 30th anniversary celebrations with their production of Fairytree, written and directed by Rod Goodall, at the Mick Lally Theatre in December
