Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following a road accident which resulted in a pedestrian being hospitalised with serious injuries this week.
The accident occurred on the R339 at Briarhill during rush hour traffic on the morning of Monday, August 24.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian shortly before 8.10am.
The pedestrian, a man in his fifites, was brought by ambulance to University Hospital Galway for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Road users who were travelling the R339 in the area of Scoil Mhuire, Briarhill between 7.50am and 8.30am on Monday, and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
