The world ranked number two squash player, Paul Coll, hosted a two-day masterclass at Galway Lawn Tennis Club last weekend.

Hailing from New Zealand, Coll spent two days working with players. The three-time British Open champion led training sessions for both junior and adult members, offering technical guidance and matchplay insights.

Coll also took part in an exhibition match against Galway Lawn Tennis Club's own Danny Lynch. Lynch is currently ranked number seven in Ireland and he is a former Irish under-19 champions with three World Junior Championship selections. The GLTC man pushed the multiple time PSA World Title winner throughout an entertaining contest at a 60-strong packed Court #1.

Coll's visit was organised by Galway Lawn Tennis Club's squash coach David Noone. Noone is a Level 3 WSF-certified coach and junior performance coach with Squash Ireland. He has been central to the development and preparation of a number of Ireland's top junior squash players and plays a pivotal role in introducing new players, young and old, to the sport.

With the autumn ladder competition and coaching programmes about to begin, Galway Lawn Tennis Club is encouraging anyone interested in trying squash, or returning to it no matter how long the absence, to get in touch. Enquiries can be made through club reception at 091 522353.
