A free Living Well programme will begin in Oughterard on Thursday, September 10, running weekly from 10.30am to 1pm for six weeks. This evidence-based programme is designed to support adults living with long-term health conditions — such as diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, COPD, or chronic pain — to take control of their health and improve their quality of life.
Delivered in a friendly and supportive group setting, Living Well helps participants build confidence, set goals, and learn practical skills to manage symptoms, improve wellbeing, and stay active. The programme is facilitated by trained leaders, some of whom live with long-term conditions themselves.
The programme will help participants to learn how to manage fatigue, pain, and low mood, get tips for healthy eating and physical activity, learn relaxation techniques, and connect with others. It is open to anyone over 18 living with a long-term health condition, or caring for someone who does. The programme is free, but advance registration is required.
