Donal Lynch of the Merlin Neighbourhood Residents Association would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended its Family Fun and Sports Day at the weekend.
“It was fantastic to see so many residents and families come along and take part. The field was full of energy, enthusiasm and community spirit, with great participation in all of the sports events,” he said.
A special thank you goes to all the service providers who helped make the day such a success, including the music, bouncing castle, face painting and food truck, as well as East United and Merlin Woods Sports Club, for their support.
A big thank you also to Sean Walsh, who organised the Mini World Cup, and to Galway Trophy Centre for providing the medals and trophies and for sponsoring the winners’ cup.
“We would also like to recognise our wonderful volunteers who gave their time to help organise and run the sports events. A special mention to Tommy Roddy and Local Community Garda Kenneth Boyle, who kindly presented the medals to the young athletes.
“Most importantly, thank you to all the residents, children and families who came along and made the day such an enjoyable occasion. Your support and participation are what make community events like this so special.
